Our mission
Karma Collector started with a simple idea: what if giving things away could also bring people together? We built a hyper-local platform where neighbours connect directly — no shipping, no strangers across the country, just people a few blocks apart exchanging things they need.
Every completed exchange earns karma points, and karma unlocks earlier access to fresh listings. But beyond the points, the real reward is the connection — meeting your neighbours, reducing waste in your community, and discovering that generosity is contagious.
Most people have something they no longer need that someone nearby desperately wants. The problem has always been trust and incentives. Karma Collector solves both.

Trust by design
Karma transfers only after both the donor and recipient confirm the pickup within a 5-hour window. No gaming the system.

Members in genuine need can enable hardship mode to claim low-value essentials without karma deductions. High-value items stay off-limits — and you can still earn karma by donating.

How karma works
When you post an item, our AI (Claude Vision) analyses it and assigns a karma value based on the item's condition, category, and estimated utility.
Claiming is first come, first served — whoever claims an item first, gets it. No donor review, no picking favourites. Once claimed, both the donor and recipient have a 5-hour window to confirm the pickup in the app. If both confirm in time, the donor earns karma and a small amount is deducted from the claimant. Miss the window and the item returns to the pool automatically.
This keeps the ecosystem balanced. Heavy claimers are nudged to give back. Generous donors climb through Bronze → Silver → Gold → Platinum tiers, each unlocking progressively earlier access to new listings.
