Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

When you create an account we collect your email address and display name. When you post a donation, we collect the item details, images, and the approximate pickup location (city, zip code, and optional lat/lng) you provide. We also maintain a karma ledger of all transactions.

2. How we use your information

• To operate the platform and display listings to other members.
• To calculate karma scores and enforce tier-based access.
• To send account-related emails (password reset, email confirmation).
• We do not sell your data to third parties.

3. Location data

Your precise GPS location (if you grant browser permission) is used only to show nearby listings and populate your pickup location. We store only the city and zip code on your public profile; coordinates are stored securely and are not shared with other users.

4. Images

Item images you upload are stored in a public Supabase Storage bucket and are visible to all visitors. Do not upload images containing personal identifying information.

5. AI analysis

When you post an item, images and descriptions may be sent to the Anthropic API (Claude Vision) for automated category, condition, and karma-value analysis. Anthropic's data handling is governed by their privacy policy.

6. Data retention

Your account and karma history are retained indefinitely while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing us at hello@karmacollector.app.

7. Cookies & analytics

We use only functional cookies required for authentication (via Supabase). We do not currently use third-party analytics or advertising cookies.

8. Security

All data is stored in Supabase with row-level security policies enforced. Passwords are never stored in plaintext. Communication is encrypted via HTTPS.
